Creating your own style

For those of us who are out in the workforce everyday, dressing well and looking stylish can be a challenge. I would like to suggest that to have a wardrobe that will go a long way, we need to start with the basics. Start with a few pairs of good dress pants. Now, please keep in mind, good clothing need not be expensive. There are many alternative shopping venues to find quality clothing, other than to pay top dollar at department stores. Choose neutral colors, such as black, grey, brown and navy blue. (These are great winter colors) Then try to add blazers and skirts in the same basic colors. You can accent these basic pieces with blouses and sweaters of pattern and color. Scarves, belts and jewelry add color and flair as well. Be creative. Sometimes, a blouse with great buttons, or a sweater with beads can make an outfit. Click Here!
To look stylish and elegant, please keep in mind, that sometimes, "less is more." That simple, little black dress can go a long way and achieve many different looks with the right accessories. Keep your "working" shoes simple as well. Find a shoe that works well with both slacks and dresses. The heel should be not too high or too low, and comfort is the most important thing when choosing a shoe you might be spending a lot of time wearing. Patent leather is one of those shoes styles that can move from day to night very easily.
Another way to "kick an outfit up a notch", is with a sexy, snappy shoe. A fancy shoe can give a whole new look to an old dress. Take that little black dress, (a staple if there ever was one) a new shoe with a dressy, sexy look or a shoe of a contrasing color, (gold, silver, red) can make all the difference.
